DIMEBAG Book Author Aims To Tell 'The Story That Hasn't Been Told'

March 23, 2007

Maira Oliveira of All Headline News recently conducted an interview with Chris A., author of the upcoming book about the murder of PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, "A Vulgar Display Of Power: Courage And Carnage At The Alrosa Villa".

Chris told All Headline News that he became interested in writing the book after he realized that not much media attention was drawn to the heroic acts that took place on December 8, 2004 at Alrosa Villa in Columbus, Ohio. He said it became his sole desire to tell the story "of regular guys who did something extraordinary."

Inside the book's chapters, the author reveals the life stories and interests of club employee Erin Halk, show attendee Nathan Bray and DAMAGEPLAN's security guard, Jeff "Mayhem" Thompson, as told through interviews with families, friends and employees. However, the book also reveals what drove the three men to jump on stage in an attempt to stop Nathan Gale from going on a murderous rampage and killing Darrell.

"What people see is tragedy but I not only see the tragedy but also the courage and heroism and love for the fellow man," explained Chris.

"There were people who were trying to prevent others from getting hurt. It's a part of the story that hasn't been told."
